INTERN PROGRAM
Scheef & Stone is committed to being a diverse workplace that reflects the community in which we live and work. We firmly believe that being a diverse workforce makes us a better law firm by enabling us to bring a broader perspective to the problems our clients face, leading to a higher quality of work, and enriching the work atmosphere itself.
Part of our commitment is developing strong relationships with professional, educational, and community groups. To this end, in the fall of 2009, Scheef & Stone created a Diversity Intern Program by partnering with Southern Methodist University's Dedman School of Law to find talented minority law students looking to enhance their classroom education. Scheef & Stone hires one intern for each semester, and one student for a summer intern program. In addition to providing assistance with various research and drafting projects, the students are offered opportunities to participate in as many "real world" assignments as possible, such as attending mediations, trials, and hearings, as well as sitting in on client meetings. We hope this program will have a positive impact in the education and lives of our student interns, as well opening the door to Scheef & Stone's greater commitment to creating a diverse work enviornment.
