Dispelling the Myth: How Fires Affect TV’s and

Richard E. McGary with Scheef & Stone L.L.P. will be one of the featured speakers at the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) Annual Industry Forum being held at the Coronado Hotel in San Diego, California October 14 – 19, 2007.

On Monday, October 15, 2007 from 9:00 -10:00 a.m. he  will present A Strategic Grasp of Conducting a Fire Investigation. This session will discuss what to do when a claim is received? From conducting a fire scene investigation and artifact inspection to making a determination of the claim, this session covers the steps of the process from start to finish.

On Tuesday, October 16, 2007 from 9:00 – 10:15 a.m. he will be discussing how to Successfully Defend Consumer Electronics Product Liability Claims. What is needed to mount a successful product liability defense? What is the place of corporate representation in the defense strategy? What about relevant case histories? Richard will provide detailed strategies for defending against claims centered on fire, tip-over, product defect and design defect. Expert witnesses require expert attention: this session also covers effective cross-examination of expert witnesses; defending your expert witness in deposition; and issues of striking expert witnesses.
